These terms govern your use of the website at tobeingalive.co and your application for membership in ALIVE. They are written in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to us.
Membership is by invitation
ALIVE is invitation-only. Submitting an application is not a guarantee of acceptance. We review applications by hand and respond by email — usually within seventy-two hours, occasionally longer.
The Founding Commitment
Accepted members are invited to place a $100 Founding Commitment. It is fully credited toward your first experience. It is not a fee or a purchase — it is a commitment that you intend to participate. The Founding Commitment is fully refundable at any time by email request, no questions asked, processed within five business days.
Experiences
ALIVE curates experiences hosted by independent artisans. Bookings, when available, are governed by the per-experience cancellation policy stated on each listing. Full refunds are available for cancellations more than thirty days in advance; partial refunds for cancellations between fifteen and twenty-nine days; experience credit under fifteen days. If ALIVE or an artisan cancels, you receive a full refund plus a $100 credit toward a future experience.
Conduct
ALIVE depends on the quality of the people at every table. We reserve the right to decline or revoke membership at our discretion. We expect respectful behavior toward artisans, fellow members, and the communities that host us. Harassment, bigotry, and dishonesty are grounds for removal — and we will not refund the Founding Commitment of members removed for cause.

Risk
Some experiences involve travel, physical activity, and remote locations. By participating, you accept the ordinary risks involved. Per-experience details and waivers will be provided before each booking.
